Who is the Lab being held for?

  • For experienced artists, decorators, actors, directors, performers and other creative artists, the Lab will be an experimental platform, a way to realize creative ideas and search for new solutions.
  • For beginners — it is an opportunity to take the first steps and try something new, to get out of the comfort zone.

Participation in Cardboardia Labs is determined by the results of passing the creative selection (age 15+)

What does participation in the Lab guarantee?

  • Opportunity to become part of the International Cardboardia Project and participate in commercial projects together with the Cardboardia team.
  • Access to an international creative community where you can always find a team to realize your own or interesting projects to participate in and work on, as well as advice, ideas, help and support.
  • Access to Cardboardia Research Institute's closed online tutorials.
  • Participants get various, sometimes unexpected tasks and the opportunity to try themselves in a real project.
  • New emotions, experience, insights and acquaintances with like-minded people.
We never fully know what the end result of the Lab will be, as the participants are the main creators of everything that will happen.
The program of each Lab, as well as its content, is always designed individually, depending on the project and conditions under which it is organized, and who and with what expectations applied for participation in it.

However, it always consists of such mandatory blocks as:

Communication trainings

Acting or art training

depending on the choice of direction and objectives of the project

The basics of working with cardboard

development of the concept of objects and props for a specific task, practical work with the material - how to fix, how to bend, how to cut corrugated cardboard and give the necessary shape for the plot

The final performance/procession or a large cardboard project

Application of the acquired knowledge in a real project for the customer

FEEDBACK FROM CARDBOARDIA INTERNSHIPS

  • Moscow, performance design direction
I didn’t know anything about Cardboardia before the internship — I accidentally came across an advertisement for interns on the Internet and thought: «Hmm, this is interesting! I seem to know how to work with cardboard, and I want to see Kulikovo Polje» — so I applied, and I was lucky — and I was lucky!
  • Moscow, performance design direction
I have traveled enough and seen a lot (not really, but there is something to compare it with), looked at people in other states, still trying to understand the structure of our country, but Cardboardia is one of the best countries I have been to. If I was given the choice of going without everything and going to live in Cardboardia, I would take it.
  • Moscow, performance design direction
Yes, I guess that's a great experience. Now, I feel differently about Cardboard. By the way, the Big People who put me on the internship never understood why I didn't learn how to make castles. Too bad it's an Internship and not a Course or Practicum. And... Thanks Tyran. Yes, one person definitely read this to the end! The ability to organize what was a hobby into a business is a rare stroke of luck. And for it to still breathe and have a life of its own is a very rare thing. Vivat Tyran, vivat!
