"Dear Beautiful Souls, We Promise Nothing, But..."

Open Call:

Cardboardia

Laboratory

at Český Krumlov Festival

When Creativity, Psyche,
and Street Performance meet at the Český Krumlov
Festival

The Intention

We are launching an experiment — a Lab.

This summer, in mid-July (exact dates to be announced), as part of the music festival in Český Krumlov (South Bohemia, Czech Republic), we will bring together passionate, curious, and bold individuals to co-create a shared creative field.

We will set the conditions for you to ignite your creativity, fully express yourself, and amplify your energy through connection — both with your inner resources and with a deeply engaged group.

The ideas that emerge during the Lab won’t stay theoretical. They will be immediately tested with a live audience and presented as a contemporary, reflective layer of the festival experience.

When and where

  • The Laboratory starts with an online session on April 21 (20:00–21:30 CET),
  • followed by biweekly meetings leading up to our in-person gathering at the Český Krumlov Festival.

What do we have in mind?

After onboarding you, we will refine together the initial intention and co-create the content of the Laboratory during preparatory online meetings.

The physical part will consist of three to four days of intensive collaborative work in Český Krumlov, within the venues of the festival and unsuspected hidden places of the town. We will have workshops, training, creative sessions and anything else we are willing to offer to ourselves and to others. The creative part will be articulated with self-development and group development activities. The curators will help turn this into a coherent schedule and provide support. Our main stage will be the festival, the streets, festival venues, the Vltava (Moldau) River, the surrounding bucolic landscapes and a picturesque urban environment. We will go out to audiences, try out performances, gather feedback, and collect "coins" in the "hat".

What will you get?

  • You will discover new ways of connection and inspiration.
  • You will be able to combine creative exploration with psychological work — both in a group and individually.
  • You will be able to develop a real project or street performance that you can present anywhere.
  • You will go through a transformative experience.
  • You will leave the Lab energized and luggage filled with new learnings, connections, opportunities, resources and perspectives.

The shot towards the horizon

The Lab experiment can be thought of as a first of many. This year’s edition main artefact will be the Ambox (Alchemical Music Box). It’s an electro-hurdy-gurdy that transforms the energy of turning a handle into music from an SD card. Simultaneously it is an art object and a musical instrument. More details: www.ambox.me The Laboratory is open to everyone who already uses Ambox or is simply interested in playing with it and trying it out.

Beyond the one shot Lab experiment we aim at creating a power for change made of a network of people fuelled by collaborative culture and running on creative energies. The latter can be directed to any concrete purpose, be it culture, business, production, innovation, science etc. to create value and impact. As the World strides forward, as a socially engaged group we want to be an active part of that change and make it a better place.
